Release notes Aug 30, 2025

Waterfall chart
In Dashboard, you can now create waterfall charts. This type of chart compares two periods and shows the mutations that happened in between. A typical example is EBITDA, where Last month versus the month before are shown; and the mutations in Revenue, COGS and OPEX in the center of the chart.

Custom Roles

Finstack now offers the option to assign custom roles to be able to configure who in your team can see what, beyond the predefined roles. For the coming weeks, please request a custom role at support@finstack.io. Later on, you will be able to create new roles yourself with a specific name, assign the correct permissions and assign it to team members.

Reporting > Analysis: drill down

It is now possible to drill-down into Actual numbers from the Reporting > Analysis overview. This will allow you to see what transactions are causing the potential differences and see what invoices are linked to them. Information will be presented in the side panel, like in the rest of Reporting, also allowing you to start discussions on the data points.

Forecast: version control

Every individual forecast now lists versions. Version management all happens in the Forecast overview page. You can create a new version by the duplication icon. Call these versions in Reporting using the Calendar.

You have full flexibility in using versions. Example use cases it can cover:

  • Historic versions, eg. you make a forecast in Q1 and update it in Q2
  • Scenarios, eg. create a best or worst case from a single forecast
  • Entity or Cost center specific, eg. create a forecast per cost center and bundle them

Multi-user log in

It is now possible to log into multiple Finstack environments with a single login email address. This allows you to easily switch between environments without having to log out and in again.

Reconciliation: Entities view includes categories

In Reconciliation, in the View Entities view, you can now also unfold to category to better pinpoint where the IC differences are.

Org chart visualisation
We have released a visual org chart on the Setup > Sources > Hierarchy page. This is a stepping stone for our next release on sub-consolidations.

CSV upload: Kleisteen

It is now possible to upload CSV files from Kleisteen. This way you can load transactions from this ERP into Finstack. Find it in Setup > Sources > Add source > CSV.

Feedback
As always, don’t hesitate to contact us with suggestions or missing features! Please reach out to sebastiaan [at] instack.io directly.

What’s next

What you can expect next is the beta release of the Google sheet integration. This will allow you to connect sheets to your Forecast, automatically syncing your Actuals to your forecast model and the forecast back to Finstack to be used in Reporting. You will have full flexibility creating your model in sheets, however the in- and outputs are seamlessly connected to Finstack. Next to that, we are working on the release of Partial ownership (or Non-controlling interest, NCI). This will help you consolidate >50% owned subsidiaries. Finally, we are working on charts withentities on the horizontal axis and expanding the By Entity overview in Reporting by sub consolidations.

Finally, a tool created by CFOs for CFOs and finance professionals.
